Steps to Sustainability

YES takes first steps in its conference setup to start changing a human lifestyle that causes global warming, waste and depletion of natural resources.

It has long been known that CO2 emissions cause climate change and that the consumption and waste of developed societies is completely unsustainable. Today these insights enter the political mainstream and cause business and society to rethink. YES at its Brainstorming not only discusses scenarios of environmental risks, but starts trying first steps to solutions by the conference’s own example: 

In 2021 YES in partnership with KPMG in Ukraine measures and offsets the conference carbon footprint. All meals are vegetarian, featuring local products, and following a no-waste philosophy. Printing materials are minimized.

Such steps combined with open thinking about the destruction humans cause and the radical changes that would be needed, will hopefully make a contribution to encouraging decision and opinion makers to get ready for the much more radical changes economies, societies and individuals must make quickly to have a chance of survival.
