Minister of Justice of Ukraine
Pavlo PETRENKO is the Minister of Justice of Ukraine. Prior to his appointment as the Minister on February 27th, 2014, he was a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the VII convocation from December 2012 to March 2014. There he represented the All-Ukrainian Union “Batkivschina” party and was the Secretary of the Committee on the Rule of Law and Justice. Previously, from November 2010 to December 2012, Mr. Petrenko was a member of the Kyiv Regional Council and a member of the Standing Committee on law, legal order, and fight against corruption. Prior to joining the public sector, he had a private law practice in 2006-2010. From December 2001 to December 2005, he worked as Chief Lawyer of the OJSC State Savings Bank of Ukraine, now Oschadbank, and later was promoted to a senior position in the bank's Directorate for legal support. In 2001, he was a lawyer in a private law firm. Mr. Petrenko received a Ph.D. in Legal Sciences in 2014, a degree in Management of International Economic Activity from the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in 2004, and an LL.M with honors in Jurisprudence from the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University in 2001.
