Co-Founder, legal expert, climate activist, ICPS Associate Expert , NGO “Unique Planet”
Kateryna Soroka is a Ukrainian lawyer with more than 12 years of practical experience. She advises mostly foreign clients on various matters of Ukrainian law including environmental and regulatory issues. She was engaged in numerous projects commenting on environmental compliance aspects. She graduated from Leeds University (UK) and holds LL.M degree in European and International Business Law. Kateryna is a member and co-founder of NGO “Unique Planet” which focuses on environment protection and animal rights and welfare. In 2017 Kateryna was elected as the Head of Environmental Law and Natural Resources Committee of Ukrainian Bar Association. The Committee convenes regular meetings on pressing legal topics related to environment and animal protection. Kateryna is a fellow of Ukrainian School of Political Studies (Council of Europe). She takes part in the all-Ukrainian movement “hutroOFF” aimed at developing social awareness about cruelty and pollution associated with fur farming. Lately, the key message of the movement is supported by the climate change arguments. Since 2019, she is an Associate Expert at the International Center for Policy Studies.
