Member of Committee on Foreign Affairs , Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania
Emanuelis ZINGERIS is a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, Seimas. There he serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on European Affairs, and is a member of the Seimas Delegation to the (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) PACE. At PACE, he is a Vice-Chairperson of the Group of the European People's Party, Vice-President of the Committee of Culture, Science, Education, and Media, Chairman of the sub-Committee of European Heritage, and a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights. Mr. Zingeris was elected to the Seimas in 1990, 1992, 1996, 2004, 2008, 2012, and in 2016. On March 11th, 1990, he was the signatory to Act on the Restoration of Independent State of Lithuania. From 1988 to 1990, he was a member of Council of the pro-democratic movement Sąjūdis. Prior, till 1988, he was a lecturer at the Department of Vilnius University in Kaunas. Mr. Zingeris graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University in 1986 with a degree in Lithuanian Philology and Literature. He was born on July 16th, 1957 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
