Zalmayev Peter

Peter ZALMAYEV is the host of an international affairs program on Pryamy Channel and the Director of the Eurasia Democracy Initiative, a New York-based NGO which seeks to educate the public about economic, political and social dynamics in post-Soviet states. Recently, Mr. Zalmayev has been a frequent commentator on Ukraine and Russia in leading international broadcast media, including BBC, CNN, and Al Jazeera, as well as most major Ukrainian media outlets. He also contributes analytical pieces to Al Jazeera's website and Huffington Post. As a member of the board of directors of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Mr. Zalmayev takes part in AJC's visits to former Soviet countries to meet with members of local Jewish communities and engage with policy-makers and media. He has organized numerous media campaigns in the U.S. and Western Europe. Mr. Zalmayev holds a master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of Public and International Affairs, and the Certificate of the Harriman Institute for Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies.
