Leader , People’s Front Political Party
Arseniy YATSENYUK is a Ukrainian politician, economist, and lawyer. Since 2014 he has been the leader of the People’s Front Political Party, the second largest political faction in Ukrainian Parliament. Prior, he served as the Prime Minister of Ukraine from February 2014 to April 2016. Under his leadership, the Government of Ukraine initiated large-scale national reforms, ensured budget austerity, and severe financial discipline. It stabilized the national economy, deterred Russia’s military aggression, and achieved Ukraine’s energy independence. During the Revolution of Dignity, Mr. Yatsenyuk was one of the leaders of the United Opposition and the Head of the largest opposition faction in Ukrainian Parliament. In 2008-2012, he was a Member of the Parliament and the leader of Front for Changes political party. In 2007-2008, Mr. Yatsenyuk served as the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, and in 2007, he was the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Prior to that, Mr. Yatsenyuk served as the First Deputy Chief of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine (2006-2007), Minister for Economy of Ukraine (2005-2006), First Deputy Governor of Odesa Region (2005), and Acting Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (2003-2004).
