First Vice President , Mirabaud
Raffael VONOVIER is the First Vice President at Mirabaud & Cie SA, where he has been providing private banker services to Swiss and international clients since 2011. From 2008 till 2010, he was the Director of Vontobel’s Geneva Office. Prior, he was a Swiss diplomat for thirteen years. He served as a senior coordinator for Africa (2007-2008), a deputy head of mission at the Swiss Embassy in Belgrade (2003-2007), a first secretary at the Swiss Mission to United Nations in Geneva and, in parallel, as a private secretary to former Swiss President Ogi, Special Adviser to UNSG on Sports for Development and Peace. Mr. Vonovier was a Liaison Officer at Institute for Security Studies in Pretoria. In addition, he was an international lawyer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berne, the Swiss Delegation to the OECD in Paris, and the European Integration Office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berne. Prior to his time at the Government of Switzerland, Mr. Vonovier had worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross as a field delegate in Mozambique and in Nigeria (1992-1994) and as a lawyer at headquarters in Geneva (1994-1996). He received a Master’s degree in Law from Lausanne University in 1990, a Certificate in International Administration from IDHEAP Lausanne in 1990, and a Certificate in Private Banking from ISFB Geneva in 2009.
