Manuel Valls is the Deputy of the First Constituency of Essonne and a former Prime Minister of France. He was born in Barcelona in 1962 and became a French citizen in 1982. At 18, he joined the French Socialist Party. As a representative of the party, he was elected and served for several mandates on the regional council of Argenteuil and later as the First Vice-President of the Region Île-de-France. In 2002, he was elected as the Mayor of Evry, Essonne. In 2012, then French President François Hollande appointed Mr. Valls as the Minister of the Interior and later in March 2014, he became the Prime Minister of France. In June 2017, following the election of Emmanuel Macron as President of the French Republic, he was re-elected as the Deputy of the First Constituency of Essonne
