Tsygykal Petro

Colonel General Petro TSYGYKAL is the Head of the State Border Guard of Ukraine since July 2017. Prior to his current position, he was the Head of the Operational Directorate at the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine from November 2014 to July 2017 serving previously as the Deputy Chief of the Northern Regional Directorate. From 1996 to 2014 he held various operational positions at Border Guard units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He started his career as Technician and Senior Technician at Separate Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment, First Air Army in 1989 and three years later moved to 119 Separate Combat Helicopter Regiment, 13th Separate Army in Carpathian military district. Mr. Tsygykal graduated from Perm Military Aviation Technical College (1989) and National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine (2001). Throughout his career he was awarded by the Bohdan Khmelnytsky medal and other National and Institutional awards. Mr. Tsygykal was born on June 20th, 1966 in Sumy region, Ukraine. He is married and has three children.
