Commissioner of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention
Oleksandr SERYOGIN is the member of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention in Ukraine since 2017. He is also the National Coordinator for the implementation of the Istanbul Action Plan to Combat Corruption for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Anticorruption Network of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (since 2017) and an arbitrator of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) (since 2016). Mr. Seryogin started his working career in 1997 as a legal adviser in a law firm. His teaching activity began as assistant in 2000, and then as Associate Professor of the Department of International Private and Customs Law at the Institute of International Relations of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. After obtaining the right to practice advocacy in 2004, he started his individual advocacy, which he has continued as a member of the Bar Association in 2007. Mr. Seryogin was elected to the Qualification Chamber of the Qualifications and Disciplinary Commission of Kyiv Region Advocates by the Constituent Conference of Kyiv Region Attorneys in 2012, later he was re-elected for a second term by the Conference of Advocates of the Kyiv Region in 2017. Mr. Seryogin is the author of more than 60 scientific works and publications. He is the co-author of the article's scientific and practical commentary on the Civil Code of Ukraine, as well as of a scientific and practical commentary on the Law of Ukraine "On International Private Law"; the co-author of a textbook on International Private Law, the Encyclopedia of Civil Law of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Diplomatic Encyclopedia, and The Great Ukrainian Law Encyclopedia. Areas of his research – corruption prevention, civil and international private law. Mr. Seryogin graduated from the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University in 1999 with a degree in International Law. He also holds Master's degree in International Law and in English Translation, as well as PhD in law. Mr. Seryogin was also enrolled in the postgraduate course at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Since 2003 he is a qualified as an EU law expert. In 2007 he was awarded the academic rank of Associate Professor of the Department of International Private and Customs Law.
