Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine
Ostap SEMERAK is the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. He has taken over the Ministry with the ultimate responsibility for shaping and implementing the national environmental policy to ensure its most efficient integration into the life of social areas and economic sectors. Previously, Mr. Semerak was a Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and represented the People`s Front Party from 2014 to 2016. During those two years, he was the First Deputy Chairman of Committee on European Integration. From February 2015 to April 2016, he served as a Co-chair of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee. Additionally, he was the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2014. Previously, he was Project Manager at the Ukrainian Reform Support Foundation (2013-2014), a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament (2007-2012), and the Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration (2006-2007). Mr. Semerak holds a bachelor's degree in Social Science and a master's degree in Political Science from the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, as well as a master's degree in Physics from Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
