Mayor of Lviv
Andriy SADOVYY is the city mayor of Lviv (since 2006). He has been actively involved in public work since 1997. He is a founder and a Head of the Board of the Institute of City Development (NGO); Head of Supervisory Council of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyy Cultural Foundation of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church (2000-2002); member of Ukrainian-Polish Unification Council. Prior to this, Mr. Sadovyy served as a Deputy Director of the Foundation of Social Adaptation of Youth, Lviv brunch (1992 –1995). In 1998-2002 he held the post of Councilor and Head of the Economic Policy Commission in Lviv City Council. Mr. Sadovyy also was a Chairman of TV and Radio Company Lux CJSC (2002-2006) and the Director of the Institute of City Development (2002-2003). Since 2005 he has been a leader of NGO, which in 2012 became a political party Samopomich. Mr. Sadovyy graduated from Lviv Polytechnic University, obtaining the qualification of Electronics Engineer (1995) and Economist (1997). He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. Mr. Sadovyy is married to Kateryna Kit-Sadova who is fine arts expert. They have five sons. Mr. Sadovyy’s life motto is “United we stand!”
