Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration , Ministry of Defence of Ukraine
Anatolii PETRENKO is the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration since December 2017. Prior, he served as the Director of the Department for Defense Policy, Strategic Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. From 2011 to 2016, he was the Military Representative for the Mission of Ukraine to NATO. Mr. Petrenko served as the Chief of the Euro-Atlantic Integration Directorate, General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for two years and previously there, he was a Deputy Chief of Branch, Chief of Branch, Deputy Chief in 2007-2010. He was the Staff Officer of SHAPE J5 in 2004-07 and prior in 2001-04 he was the Senior Staff Officer, Chief of Section, Deputy Chief of Branch at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 1999-2001, he was Staff Officer, Senior Staff Officer of the Land Forces Command. Mr. Petrenko received his military training at Kyiv Higher Command Joint Military College and later at the National Defense Academy of Ukraine in 1990 - 1999. While there, he held numerous military leadership posts of the Land Forces including platoon commander, company commander, executive officer, and battalion commander. Mr. Petrenko was born on January 22nd, 1969, in the Poltava region of Ukraine. He is married and has one son. He speaks Ukrainian, Russian, and English.
