John PATTON is the Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Argentem Creek Partners based in London, where he is responsible for high yield debt and special situations structured credit in Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Prior to joining Argentem Creek at its inception, Mr. Patton was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Black River Asset Management, where he focused on emerging markets special situations credit. During 2013 - 2014, Mr. Patton was a Partner at Connect Capital, a London-based EM corporate finance advisory firm. From 1994 and through 2012, he held senior roles at Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, and Deutsche Bank, specializing in proprietary trading, restructuring, origination, and structuring in Emerging Markets with a particular focus on Ukraine, Russia, and the Former Soviet Union countries. From 1992 to 1993, Mr. Patton was a Thomas J. Watson Fellow traveling in Russia and the former Soviet Union and studying the evolution of the Russian Orthodox Church and its role in society as the Soviet Union dissolved. He graduated from Davidson College in 1992 with a BA in Political Science and Russian Studies and received an MBA from London Business School.
