Director General , Mystetskyi Arsenal
Olesia OSTROVSKA-LIUTA is the Director General of National Art and Culture Museum Complex "Mystetskyi Arsenal" as well as the Board member of the Ukrainian Institute, the East Europe Foundation, and the CEDOS think tank. She was the Head of analytics at Pro.mova consulting company and a founding member of Culture2025, an independent platform for the development of a national strategy for culture. In 2015 - 2016, she was a member of the Council for National Unity under the President of Ukraine. During 2014, Ms. Ostrovska-Liuta served as the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine. In that capacity she initiated the development of the national strategy for culture and development for the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, as well as advocated for the autonomy of cultural and equal rights institutions, and civil society culture institutions. She has also been a freelance curator for contemporary art and a writer on the issues of culture and cultural policy. Ms. Ostrovska-Liuta holds an MA in Cultural Studies from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. She is fluent in English, Polish, and Russian, and Ukrainian is her native language.
