Member of the Parliament of Latvia, Chairman of the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with Ukraine
Ainars MEŽULIS is a Member of the Latvian Parliament, which he joined in 2014, a Chairman of the Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Ukraine, and a Secretary on the Public Administration and Local Government Committee. He has rich experience in governance, having previously administered regional councils from 2009 to 2014 and the city of Smiltene council from 2001 to 2009. He was born in Smiltene in 1962 and studied at the Department of Philology at University of Latvia. After graduating, he became a philologist and a teacher of Latvian language and literature. Mr. Mežulis speaks Latvian, English, Russian, and German. His hobbies include basketball, cycling, and hunting.
