Political Advisor to the Vice-President of the European Parliament
Yaroslav MENDUS is a Political Advisor to the Vice-President of the EU Parliament Ioan Mircea Pascu. Prior, he served as a Political Advisor to the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the European Parliament, and before he was an Advisor to a Member of the European Parliament Marek Siwiec. He was elected to be a Member of the Parliament of Ukraine of the 5th Convocation. From 1994 to 1998, he served as an Advisor to the Head of the Parliament of Ukraine and was the Vice-Head of the Office of Domestic Policy in the Administration of the First President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk from 1991 to 1994. Mr. Mendus was the General Producer of The Orange Sky, a love story film that is set against the backdrop of the 2004–2005 Orange Revolution. He is an author of A to Z of Ukrainian Politics, a collection of political essays. In 1992, he finished “Peace, Defense, and Security Policy”, a course given by the American Association for the Advancement of Science in partnership with the RAND Corporation. Mr. Mendus received a Ph.D. in History and graduated from Lviv National University and, later, from Kyiv Institute of Political Science and Social Management. He was born on January 1st, 1960, in Lviv district. He is married and has a son.
