Oleksiy MELNYK is the Co-Director of Foreign Relations and International Security Program at Razumkov Centre. Before joining the think tank in 2008, he was the First Assistant to Minister of Defense of Ukraine (2005-07) and worked for SC Ukroboronservice (2004). He also served 21 years in Air Force (Lt Col. Ret.). During his military career, he participated in the UN peacekeeping operations (UNTAES). He studied international relations and security at the Royal College of Defense Studies in London (2007). Before that, he studied in the United States at the International Military and Education Program (1993-94 & 2000-2001) and graduated from Air Force Academy in 1984. His research focus is International Security, National Security and Defense, Police Reform, and NATO-Ukraine Partnership.
