Oleksiy JAKUBIN is a Ukrainian political scientist, specialized in the contemporary history and politics of Ukraine, Russia and EU, and in the current political process in this region. He is one of the most prominent Ukrainian political commentators for domestic and international media. Mr. Jakubin is a member of the editorial board of “Commons: Journal for Social Criticism” and a senior lecturer at the Department of Sociology in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Since 2017, he has been a visiting professor at the University of Vienna, and prior, he was a visiting professor of European and Ukrainian Contemporary Political Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2012-2013. Mr. Jakubin has a Ph.D., in Political Science from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
