Partner , Hogan Lovells International LLP
Chris HARDMAN is a Senior Litigation Partner based in the London office of the international law firm, Hogan Lovells. For the best part of the last 15 years, Mr. Hardman has been handling some of the largest disputes to come out of the CIS, particularly Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan. These are often multi-centre cases, with proceedings in London and/or offshore jurisdictions and will usually involve asset freezing and fraud. His most recent major dispute involved Victor Pinchuk, Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov, three of the most prominent businessmen in Ukraine. Before that, he represented the major Kazakh Bank, BTA Bank, in its successful pursuit of its former chairman, Mukhtar Ablyazov, who was found to have defrauded the bank in excess of US$10 billion. He also acted for a major Russian business group in its attempts - ultimately successful - to prove that its opponent in a dispute concerning the Russian telecoms giant, Megafon, was then Minister of Telecommunications in Russia.
