Hanso Hannes

Hannes HANSO is a Chairman of the National Defense Committee of the Riigikogu, Parliament of Estonia, as well as a member of the Science and Technology Committee in NATO Parliamentary Assembly. He has previously served as a Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu and as a Minister for Defense of the Republic of Estonia. Before being elected as an MP, he worked for the International Centre for Defense Studies, the Representation of the European Union in China and Mongolia, the Ministry of Defense and as an adviser to the Minister of Finance. He is mostly interested in foreign and security policy. As a result, Mr. Hanso has visited dozens of European and Asian countries in connection with his work. He considers it important to expand the foreign policy reach of Estonia to the rapidly developing and strategically important regions of the world, first of all in order to develop business relations.
