Gullgren Stefan

Stefan GULLGREN is a career diplomat in the Swedish Foreign Service, who has been serving as the Ambassador of Sweden to Poland since September 2017. Previously, he was a Deputy Director-General and a Head of Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden (MFA) in 2013-2017. In 2009-2013, Ambassador Gullgren served as the Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine, and from 2002 to 2009, he worked at the Embassy of Sweden in Moscow. While stationed in Moscow, he held various positions including a Counselor for Political Affairs, the Minister Plenipotentiary, a Head of Section for Economic Affairs and Trade, and the Deputy Head of Mission. He was a Desk Officer for Russia at the MFA in Stockholm (1998-2002), having previously served at the Embassy of Sweden in Moscow (1994-1998) as a Second Secretary of Political Affairs. He holds a Master of Law from Uppsala University, Sweden.
