Ex-dissident, human rights activist
Semen GLUZMAN is psychiatrist and human rights activist, former dissident and political prisoner, and the President of the Association of Psychiatrists of Ukraine. He has been the Director of the Ukrainian-American Human Rights Protection Bureau since 1990, a member of the American Society of Psychiatrists since 1979, and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom since 1980. Additionally, Mr. Gluzman has been serving as a member of the Canadian Psychiatric Association since 1981, a member of the Psychiatrists and Neurologists Community in Germany, and a co-chairman of the "Babyn Yar" Committee. From 1998 to 1999, he worked as human rights expert for the United Nations. The year of 1978 was named by Amnesty International as the year of Semen Gluzman.
