Vasyl FILIPCHUK is a top-ranked expert in foreign policy and European issues in Ukraine, acclaimed analyst, a brilliant speaker and participant of Chatham House and Wilton Park events. He is an experienced diplomat and an author of the European Integration Strategy of Ukraine, which was approved by the President’s Decree on June 11, 1998. Mr. Filipchuk has a profound experience in governance and remarkable leadership and networking skills. He served as Director of the EU Integration Department at the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2012–2013, as Director of Political Department at the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine in 2011–2012, and as a spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine in 2005–2006. Mr. Filipchuk holds the 3rd civil service rank and the Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary diplomatic rank of the second class. He spent a year studying at Queens University in Kingston in Canada, and at the International Study Centre in Herstmonceux in the UK in 1998, and prior, a year at New York University. He attended the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine in Kyiv in 1996–1997 and the Chernivtsi State University. Mr. Filipchuk is fluent in English, German and Russian, and native in Ukrainian.
