Member of the National Assembly of the French Republic
Valéria FAURE-MUNTIAN is a French politician representing «La République En Marche!» (On the Move), Emmanuel Macron's movement which she joined in 2016. She was elected to the French National Assembly on 18 June 2017 as a representative of the 3rd district of Loire, defeating François Rochebloine, who has been a member of National Assembly since 1988. Currently, she serves as a member of the Economic Affairs Committee at the National Assembly. She is the President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of France and Ukraine, where she and her team conduct diplomatic reflections and strategies, in connection with the respective ministries and parliamentarians of member countries. Additionally, she is the Vice President of the Insurance Study Group and the Vice-President of the Friendship Group of France and Croatia. Ms. Faure-Muntian is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and of La Francophonie. She is also a member of multiple Study Groups within the National Assembly on the various subjects such as cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, startup and SMEs, digital economy of data, knowledge and artificial intelligence, and women's entrepreneurship. Outside of the National Assembly, Ms. Faure-Muntian is a member of the Women Political Leaders World Forum (WPL), a global network of women in public service whose mission is to increase the influence and number of women in political leadership. Prior to joining the National Assembly, Ms. Faure-Muntian was a Customer Manager at Societe Generale, EDF, Auxiliaire Vie BTP, and Groupama. In 2002, she obtained her bachelor's degree in Account Management. Later she joined the Department of Law at the University of Franche Comté, and in 2007, received a BTS in bank insurance from CFA Bank of Strasbourg. Born in 1984 in Kilia, a village in southwestern Ukraine, Ms. Faure-Muntian emigrated to France with her family in 1998. In 2005, she became a French citizen. Ms. Faure-Muntian is married and has two children.
