President , Conflict Prevention and Early Warning Center Bucharest
Iulian CHIFU is an Associate Professor at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest. He is the founder of the Conflict Prevention and Early Warning Center Bucharest. Between 2011 and 2014, he was the Counsellor for Strategic Affairs and International Security to the Romanian President. He acted as an Advisor for foreign policy, security, and defense to the Vice-President of the Romanian Senate (2006-2011). He was an Advisor to the President of the Iasi District Health Insurance House (1998-2000), researcher and journalist (1991-1998), correspondent of the BBC World, Romanian Service (1991-1995). Mr. Chifu specializes in conflict analysis, crisis decision making, and the post-Soviet space. He is a member of the board of the Center for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS) at King’s College London, UK, a member of the International Advisory Committee of the CBRNE-Terrorism Newsletter, Athens, Greece, a member of the Coordination Council of the Romanian Transatlantic Committee Casa NATO. He is the author and co-author of more than 30 books on conflicts, crisis, post-Soviet space, and energy security.
