Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine
Vadym CHERNYSH is the Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine. Prior, he headed the State Agency for Donbas Restoration. He is an expert in counteracting money laundering and terrorism financing. In 2014-2015, Mr. Chernysh headed the NGO “Center for Security Studies and Money Laundering Counteraction.” As a public official, Mr. Chernysh became the Head of the Kirovohrad Oblast State Administration in 2006-2007 and served as a Deputy Head of the Kirovohrad Oblast State Administration in 2005. Additionally, he was a member of the Kirovohrad Oblast Council in 2002-2010 and in 2007 he was a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Previously in 1994-2000, he worked in a bank as a senior lawyer and inspector of banking security. In 1998-2001, Mr. Chernysh was a lecturer in Law and, since 1999 he has been working as a practicing lawyer. For his work, he has received numerous awards from the State Committee for Communications, the Central Election Commission, and the Ministry of Emergency of Ukraine. He was born in 1971 in Mykolaiv region.
