John BRANTE is the Deputy Director for regional analysis and policy planning in the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden. His previous postings include embassies of Sweden in Moscow and Minsk. Dr. Brante holds a Ph.D. in European and International Affairs from King's College London, United Kingdom, and an MA from College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
