Privatisation and SOE Reform Advisor , Strategic Advisory Group for Supporting Ukrainian Reforms
Andriy BOYTSUN works at the Strategic Advisory Group for Supporting Ukrainian Reforms (SAGSUR), commonly known as the Mikloš group, where he advises on corporate governance reform in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and privatization. In 2016–2018, Dr. Boytsun was an independent member of the SOE Nomination Committee, which was responsible for nominating CEOs and board members in Ukraine’s most important SOEs. He is also a co-founder of the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Academy (UCGA), where he serves as Vice-President. Previously, Dr. Boytsun was a Research Director at the Centre for Economic Strategy (CES), Ukraine’s leading economic think tank. Prior to joining CES, he was an Adviser to the CEO of Naftogaz, the country’s largest company. In that capacity, he designed the corporate governance reform of Naftogaz, making the company the pioneer of corporate governance in Ukraine. From 2000, he worked as an Assistant and later, as a Visiting Professor and Research Fellow at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), where he conducted research on corporate governance and taught courses in management. Dr. Boytsun holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Antwerp, where he defended a thesis on corporate governance.
