Executive Director , Amicus Europae Foundation, Poland
Ireneusz BIL is the Executive Director of the Amicus Europae Foundation, which was established in 2004 by the former President of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski. The foundation plays an active role in foreign policy and security, focusing on the Eastern Neighborhood of the European Union. Dr. Bil is a member of the Advisory Board of the FES Regional Office for Cooperation and Peace in Europe in Vienna. Prior, he worked as Director of the Office of International Affairs of the Presidential Chancellery in 2004 - 2006 and as an expert of the National Security Bureau in 1997 - 2004. His interests include energy policy, international security, military affairs and defense. He is an author of numerous foreign policy and security books and articles. Dr. Bil was an Assistant Professor at the National Security Studies Program at the Warsaw University and the Warsaw School of Economics (WSE) from which he received a doctoral degree in energy supply security. He is a former visiting fellow of the Bertelsmann Foundation, Zeit Foundation, Korber Foundation, and the U.S. Department of State.
