David BEZHUASHVILI is the founder and has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Georgian Industrial Group” LLC since 2016. In 2015, Dr. Bezhuashvili founded the David Bezhuashvili Education Foundation, a non-profit foundation that supports engineering and technical education programs and invests in the protection of Georgian cultural heritage. From 1999 - till November 2016, he was a Member of the Parliament of Georgia (V-VIII appeals) from the single mandate constituency of Tetritskaro Region. As MP, Dr. Bezhuashvili served as a member of the Committee for European Integration in 2013 - 2016, a member of faction "The United National Movement" and the Regional and Self - Government Committee in 2004 - 2013, and a Chairman of the Parliamentary Subcommittee on Tax and Taxation in 1999 - 2004. In 2013, by the Decree #15/10/01 of the President of Georgia, David Bezhuashvili was awarded the St. George’s Order of Victory for exceptional contribution to country’s development and progress. In 1998 – 1999, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the General Director of JSC Saqgazi and in 1997 - 1998 he was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board in JSC Saktransgazmretsvi. Dr. Bezhuashvili was elected as the President of Weightlifting Federation of Georgia where he had served until 2014. In 1999, he received a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences from Institute of Economic Freedom. Results of his research Dr. Bezhuashvili published in his book National Bank's Monetary and Credit Policy and the Prospects for the Development of the Banking System (1999). In 1993 he graduated from Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, where he received a bachelor’s and a master’s in Macroeconomics and in Arts and Humanities. David Bezhuashvili is married and has two sons.
