Bekeshkina Iryna

Iryna BEKESHKINA, Ph.D. is the Director of Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation (DIF), one of the eldest and the most authoritative think tank in Ukraine, founded in 1992. DIF has a mission to support Ukraine's transition towards a fully functioning democracy, better governance, market economy, and the development of civil society in Ukraine. Dr. Bekeshkina is an active public figure. She is a member of the Council of National Unity under the President of Ukraine, a member of the Collegium of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and a member of the supervisory boards of several authoritative public organizations, in particular, the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, NGO "Detector of Media" and others. Dr. Bekeshkina is a well-known sociologist, she is a Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of Sociology of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. She is an author of more than a hundred research papers and numerous media publications, especially on the issues of political transformations in Ukraine and elections. Dr. Bekeshina works intensively with media, often participates in the popular TV shows. In 2006-2017, she was listed in the top 100 most influential women in Ukraine.
