
Andrii Sybiha, born in 1975 in Zboriv, graduated from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with degrees in international relations and law. He began his diplomatic career in 1997 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on international legal affairs, and soon joined the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, where he served as Second and First Secretary until 2002. Over the following years, he held senior roles within the MFA, leading the International Law Department and later serving as Deputy Head of the Directorate General for International Legal Affairs. From 2008 to 2012, Sybiha returned to Poland as Minister Counsellor at the Ukrainian Embassy, after which he headed the Directorate General for Consular Service. In 2016 he was appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Türkiye, a position he held for five years before moving to the Office of the President of Ukraine, where he worked as Deputy Head from 2021 to 2024. In April 2024, he became First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and since September 2024 he has served as Ukraine’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.
