
Fabrizio Saggio is a career member of the Italian Foreign Service, currently serving as Diplomatic Advisor and National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Italy. Since January 2025, Mr. Saggio has also been appointed Sherpa of the Prime Minister of Italy for the G7 and the G20. Prior to this, Mr. Saggio was Ambassador of Italy in Tunis from 2022 to 2023. Before that, he was Senior Counselor for the Middle East and North Africa in the Diplomatic Advisor’s Office of the President of the Republic of Italy from 2015 to 2022. He also held overseas positions in the Embassy of Italy in Washington, in the Permanent Mission of Italy to the European Union and was Consul in Cairo. His earlier roles in the MFA include Counselor in the Foreign Minister’s Cabinet and postings in the Human Resources Department and in the Service for Legal Affairs. A native of Naples, Mr. Saggio received a degree with honors from the Law School of Rome’s University “La Sapienza”University in 1995 and joined the Italian Foreign Service in 1998. He is married and has two children
