
Oleksandr Kamyshin is a prominent Ukrainian executive and government official with extensive experience in strategic industries, investment, and infrastructure management. He began his professional career as an auditor at KPMG, subsequently joining the analytical department of Dragon Asset Management. In 2009, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Karlivka Machine-Building Plant. In 2012, he became an investment manager at SCM Holdings, and in 2018, he was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board of Lemtrans, a leading private rail freight operator in Ukraine and part of the SCM Group. In 2019, Mr. Kamyshin left SCM Holdings to become a Managing Partner at Fortior Capital, an investment firm focusing on strategic assets. On August 11, 2021, Mr. Kamyshin was appointed Acting Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Ukrainian Railways”, the state-owned railway operator. He was confirmed as Chairman of the Management Board in March 2022. Mr. Kamyshin received international acclaim for his leadership in maintaining and protecting Ukraine’s railway infrastructure during the initial phase of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. He resigned as CEO in February 2023. On March 3, 2023, he was appointed Advisor to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Shortly thereafter, on March 21, 2023, he assumed the role of Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine. Following the completion of his ministerial tenure in September 2024, Mr. Kamyshin was appointed Advisor to the President of Ukraine for Strategic Affairs. In addition to his governmental roles, Mr. Kamyshin serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board of JSC “Ukrainian Railways”, Chairman of the Council of the Public Association “Defense Alliance of Ukraine”, and President of the Ukrainian Chess Federation.
