
Rt Hon Boris Johnson is a former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Leader of the Conservative Party, Foreign Secretary, and Mayor of London. He led the Conservatives to a landslide 2019 election victory, broke the Brexit deadlock, and oversaw the UK’s exit from the European Union. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he spearheaded the UK’s rapid vaccine rollout, including the development of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. In 2022, Mr Johnson emerged as the preeminent global leader in the effort to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian invasion. Under his leadership the UK committed more than £2.4 billion in military assistance, huge humanitarian support and became Ukraine’s foremost European political partner. He was the first G7 leader to visit Ukraine following the Russian invasion. Mr Johnson has remained a key ally of President Volodomyr Zelenskyy, regularly advocating for Ukraine in speeches and media appearances worldwide. Earlier in his career, Johnson was twice elected Mayor of London, launching initiatives like the “Boris Bike” scheme and overseeing the 2012 Olympics. A former MP for Henley and later Uxbridge, he also served as Foreign Secretary, focusing on global education and responding to Russian aggression in Salisbury. Beyond politics, he is an award-winning writer and journalist, author of several bestselling books including The Churchill Factor and Unleashed, and a regular media commentator. Educated at Eton and Oxford, he married Carrie Johnson in 2021.
