The Kyiv Post is Ukraine's English-language newspaper and a proud winner of the 2014 Missouri Honor Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism. The newspaper's first print edition came out on Oct. 18, 1995. The Kyiv Post went online in 2002. The newspaper's motto is "Independence. Community. Trust." because of its commitment to the highest journalistic and ethical standards.
The team consists of a multilingual mix of Ukrainian and foreign journalists who have covered two revolutions, one war and investigated countless cases of corruption. The editorial policy supports Ukrainian statehood, democracy and a competitive market economy. The news pages offer a general interest mix of political, economic and entertainment news. The Kyiv Post has been owned and published by Mohammad Zahoor, a Kyiv-based businessman, since 2009.
The newspaper's journalists in 2013 started an affiliated nonprofit organization, the Media Development Foundation, to promote investigative journalism, student exchanges and training programs.
