Zhadan Serhii

Serhiy Zhadan is a Ukrainian writer, poet, translator, musician, and public figure. He was born in 1974 in the Luhansk region, studied in Kharkiv, and has lived and worked there for many years. He is the author of numerous poetry collections and novels, including "Voroshylovhrad," "Mesopotamia," and "The Orphanage." His works have been translated into many languages, and Zhadan himself is one of the most well-known contemporary Ukrainian writers in Europe. After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he was actively engaged in volunteer work and support for Ukrainian military personnel and civilians. In 2024, he joined the 13th National Guard of Ukraine Operational Purpose Brigade "Khartiia," where he currently serves.
