Rob Portman’s career in public service has spanned three decades and included service in three presidential administrations, including two cabinet level jobs in the George W. Bush Administration - US Trade Representative and Director of OMB. He also served six terms in the U.S. House of Representatives and two terms in the U.S. Senate ending in January 2023, when he chose not to run for reelection. Known for his civility, successful bipartisan policy making, work ethic, and grasp of a broad range of complex issues, over 220 of Portman’s bills were signed into law by Presidents Biden, Trump and Obama. He played a key role in U.S. foreign policy and was a staunch supporter of Ukraine through his seat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and as co-chair and founder of the Senate Ukraine Caucus. He has traveled to Ukraine more than 10 times since 2014, when he was a presidential election observer. Today he is co-chair of the Congressional Advisory Group on Ukraine. Portman also serves as the Founder and Chair of the Portman Center for Policy Solutions at the University of Cincinnati and is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow in the Practice of Public Policy at the American Enterprise Institute. He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Procter and Gamble Company, the Bechtel Group, Inc., The Atlantic Council, and the National Parks Foundation, and as an advisory board member of other non-profits.
