Robert Brovdi (Madyar), also known by the call sign "Madyar," is a Ukrainian military commander, entrepreneur, and public servant. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he built a successful business career. With the onset of the invasion in 2022, Brovdi joined the ranks of Ukraine's Territorial Defense Forces. He later founded the aerial reconnaissance unit "Madyar's Birds" — a specialized drone unit that played a key role in gathering intelligence, adjusting artillery, and engaging in drone warfare. The unit gained recognition for its significant contributions to crucial battles, including the defense of Bakhmut and Soledar. In 2024, Brovdi's unit became part of the Ukrainian Marine Corps, transforming into the 414th Strike Drone Regiment, marking the establishment of Ukraine's first dedicated drone regiment.
