Congressman Don Bacon grew up on a family farm in Illinois, went on to earn a Bachelors of Political Science at Northern Illinois University, and began his military career shortly after. Serving nearly 30 years in the U.S. Air Force, Congressman Bacon earned various honors and retired as a Brigadier General in 2014. Following his retirement, Congressman Bacon served as a military advisor and specialized in military affairs focusing on Offutt Airforce base and the Nebraska National Guard. In 2016, he was elected to Congress, representing Nebraska’s Second Congressional District, where he presently serves on two committees within the House of Representatives: the House Armed Services Committee, and the House Agricultural Committee.
