Special Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine , Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy
Davide La Cecilia has been Special Envoy for the Revibatruction of Ukraine since early 2023. He holds a Degree in Political Science at Sapienza University of Rome. Professional diplomat since 1989, he started his career working at the office of the Foreign Undersecretary (1989-1992). He then served in Hong Kong as Vice Consul (1992-1996) and London as First Secretary (1996-1999). Back to Rome, he was Head of the Secretary of the General Secretary of Farnesina (1999-2001). He then served in Tokyo as Chief of the Commercial Office (2001-2005) and in Tel Aviv as Deputy Head of Mission (2005-2009). Head of the Near East Office in at the Foreign Ministry (2009-2013), he then served in Jerusalem as Consul General (2013-2016). He was the italian Ambassador in Ukraine (2016-2020) and Diplomatic Advisor to the Italian Minister of Health during the Covid pandemic(2021-2022).
