Brigadier General Dr. Freuding has served through various command assignments; including two deployments to the Balkans and Afghanistan. Most recently, he commanded the Panzerlehrbrigade 9. Within the Ministry of Defence Brigadier General Dr. Freuding went through various assignments. Among other positions, he was the Senior Military Assistant to the Federal Minister of Defence. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Brigadier General Dr. Freuding became Director of the Situation Center and the Special Staff Ukraine. Since June 2023, Brigadier General Dr. Freuding has been the Director of the newly established Joint Planning and Command Staff in the Ministry of Defence.
