Onuch Olga

Olga ONUCH is an Associate Professor in Politics at the University of Manchester, and an Associate of Nuffield College (Oxford) and of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute. Prior, Dr. Onuch was a Research Fellow at the Davis Center (Harvard) in 2017 and held prestigious research posts at Toronto (2010-2011), Oxford (2011-2014), and Harvard (2013-2014). Her comparative study of protest (elections, migration, and identity) in Eastern Europe and Latin America has made her a leading expert in Ukrainian politics, and also in the inter-regional comparative analysis. Her book, Mapping Mass Mobilizations (2014), explores the processes leading up to mass protest engagement in Ukraine (2004) and Argentina (2001). Dr. Onuch was Co-PI of an NSF funded study of Ukrainian political opinion (UCEPS), and in 2014, she was awarded the Leverhulme EC Fellowship for exceptional and promising scholars. In 2011-2014, she was Principle Investigator of the Ukrainian Protest Project (British Academy). Dr. Onuch has consulted policymakers in Canada, Ukraine, the UK, and the U.S. and has worked with the UNDP, World Bank, OSCE, OSF, and USAID. Her research regularly appears in leading media outlets such as Washington Post, Times, Guardian, BBC, and Al Jazeera.
