Olekas Juozas

Juozas OLEKAS has been a member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania since 1996, where he is a representative of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party. He is also a member of the National Security and Defense Committee, a chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Relations Unit with Ukraine, and a member of the Provisional Group "Pro-Ukraine". Mr. Olekas is the Vice-Chairman of the Seimas delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the Vice-President of the Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the United States. Previously, he was the Minister of Health (1990-1992 and 2003-2004) and the Minister of National Defense (2006-2008 and 2012-2016).
