Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine
Davide LA CECILIA is the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, appointed on August 29th, 2016. He entered the diplomatic service in 1989, starting his career at the Personal Secretariat of the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1992, he was posted to Hong Kong as the Vice Consul, and four years later he was transferred to Italian Embassy in London, where he served as the First Secretary. In 1999, he returned to Rome and worked as the Head of the Office of the Secretary-General. From 2001 to 2005, he headed the trade office of the Italian Embassy in Tokyo and later, from 2005 to 2009, he was a Deputy Head of Mission in Tel Aviv. From 2009 to 2013, he worked in Rome, initially as Head of the Office for Middle East countries and then as Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process. He was the Minister Plenipotentiary in 2011, and prior to his posting in Kyiv, he served as the Consul General in Jerusalem for three years. Ambassador La Cecilia was born in Rome in 1961. He was a second lieutenant of the Italian Coast Guard and received a degree in Political Science from the University of Rome.
