Coordinator , Institute for Eastern European Studies
Jacek KLUCZKOWSKI is an expert in East European and Central Asian affairs. Since October 2015, he has been a Coordinator for Ukrainian Issues at the Institute for Eastern Studies in Warsaw. Prior, he served as the Polish Ambassador to Ukraine in 2005 - 2010, and later to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in 2011 - 2015. In 2004 - 2005, Mr. Kluczkowski was the Parliamentary Secretary at the Polish Government and a Coordinator of an advisory team to Prime Minister Marek Belka from 2004 to 2005. During the Orange Revolution, he led a group of Polish diplomats and experts in international mediation in Kyiv. From 1995 until 2001, he worked as an Advisor to Aleksander Kwaśniewski, the President of Poland. Later in 2001, he joined the Polish Know How Foundation, now the Solidarity Fund PL, serving as the Head for 4 years. He started out his professional career as a journalist, working in Lodz and Warsaw from 1979 to 1994, and the following two years he spent working as a correspondent at a Polish newspaper in Kyiv. He received a master's degree in history at the University of Lodz in 1981.
