Karpenko Margarita

Margarita KARPENKO is the Managing Partner in Kyiv DLA Piper office, joining the law firm on July 1st, 2005. As an experienced transactional lawyer with areas of practice in corporate law, M&A, and employment law, she has been working with clients from various sectors of business, including production, media, IT, FMCG. Under her leadership, DLA Piper was named as a "Foreign Law Firm of the Year in Ukraine" in 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2016 by the Yuridicheskaya Praktika Weekly. In 2017, Ms. Karpenko was ranked #1 among top managers of law firms in Ukraine in "TOP-100 Best Top-Managers of Ukraine" by the Ekonomika Publishing House. In 2010, 2013, 2015-2017 she was acknowledged as one of the TOP 100 Lawyers of Ukraine by the Yurydychna Gazeta Weekly. Prior to joining the DLA Piper, she worked as the Head at Ernst & Young Law LLC from 2002 to 2005, and before that, she was the Senior Manager at the firm’s Ukraine office. From 1992 to 2001, Ms. Karpenko worked at the Tax & Legal Dept., Arthur Andersen Kyiv LLC, rising through ranks from staff to Senior Manager and Head. Prior to that, she was a senior legal expert in Audit Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine). She is a member of Kyiv City Bar Association (from 2000), EBA – Legal Committee, USUBC – Member of Executive Committee, and EEF – Chairman of the Board (2017).
