Chalyi Oleksandr

Oleksandr CHALYI is the President of Grant Thornton Ukraine since 2012. He is also a member of OSCE Panel of Eminent Persons and a high-level commission “Euro-Atlantic Security Initiative.” In 2006-2008, he was the Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine and Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Ukraine. Prior, he was a career diplomat from 1993 to 2008. Throughout his time at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, he served in a number of leadership positions, including the Head of the Department for Treaties and Legal Affairs, Member of the Board in MFA of Ukraine, and was the Head of the Delegations of Ukraine during political treaty negotiations with Russian Federation and Romania. Thereafter, he served as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Romania, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and State Secretary on European integration issues. H.E. Mr. Chalyi holds a Ph.D. in law.
