Aston Jurij

Jurij ASTON is the Deputy Head of the Ukraine Task Force in the German Federal Foreign Office. Previously, he was the Chief of Staff to the German Ambassador to the United States and served at the German Embassies in Cairo and Kyiv. He worked as a Chief of Staff to the German Human Rights Commissioner and as a Deputy Coordinator of the Foreign Office’s Middle East Task Force. Additionally, he has been a Foreign Policy Advisor to the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag. Mr. Aston holds a doctoral degree in law from the University of Bonn and is a Fulbright and DAAD alumnus. He earned a Master of International and European Law from the European University Institute in Florence, a Master of Law from Tulane Law School, a Licence en Droit from the University of Montpellier, and graduated in Germany with both state examinations in law. He was trained at the German Permanent Mission to the UN in New York and has published books on UN and international law related topics.
